The Long Drive to Philadelphia

We decided to do the long drive to Philadelphia from Charleston in one day. It was about a 12-13 hour drive, but of course it took us longer traveling with 5 children, 2 dogs, and a pregnant mama. It was a pretty uneventful drive, and we rolled into our overnight stop in New Jersey right across the river from Philadelphia about 3:00 in the morning. It was really a blur getting there, and getting everyone in the camper for our overnight spot. I remember it smelled like skunk, and our overnight spot was over some water which our dogs jumped in.
The day of travel was also on our 11 year anniversary, so we celebrated by driving back to the city where we lived as newlyweds- Philadelphia! The morning we woke up and let the children play in the sand playground before driving the hour to Philly. After another uneventful drive we rolled into our Philadelphia campsite. My husband set up the camper while I took the children to the nice shaded playground. Another exciting thing was that we were able to fill in 3 more states on our camper map- Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware!

On to the week of adventures in Philadelphia!
