Georgia Aquarium And The Top of Stone Mountain!

Our last day in Atlanta we spent at the Georgia Aquarium and hiking to the top of Stone Mountain. The aquarium was huge and apparently the largest in the world. I didn't know this before going. Again, I took all my children out alone so my husband could work on his report, and it proved a bit challenging. Even though it was a Monday the aquarium was still super crowded, and it was quite hard to push my double stroller through the crowds and narrow halls. I was a lot more tired this day out. I think being six months pregnant and going out everyday was starting to catch up with me. It was a lovely aquarium though. They have every sea creature you could think of (that could fit in an aquarium). I was pretty amused with the dolphin show.
I refer to it to my husband as the Las Vegas dolphins. I have never been to a show quite like it. I was expecting a Sea World type of show, and it turned out to be a drama with acting, singing, twinkling capes, thunder storms, and flipping dolphins. It was quite amusing, and my 4 and 6 year old boys were particularly impressed.
Another thing we wanted to do before we left was hiking up to the top of Stone Mountain. At first we brought our dogs, but had to take them back home when we got to the sign that read no dogs allowed. It was a pretty strenuous hike and for a time my husband carried my 4 year old one his shoulders and my 2 year old in his hiking backpack. It had rained the night before so when we got to the top it also had pools of water that our kids enjoyed running around in to cool off. There were beautiful views of Atlanta, and I was so proud of my six year old son climbing to the top of the mountain ao eagerly. I keep reminding him that if he did that so easy he can do anything. Beautiful family memories!
