Vermont-surprising beauty

We stopped in Vermont overnight to break up the long drive from Maine to Niagara Falls New York. I was actually quite surprised at how strikingly beautiful It is. I was not really expecting much. When I think of Vermont, well actually I don't really think of Vermont. What I found though were the lush Green Mountains that were everywhere you looked!  I was also surprised to see all of the history in the small town we stayed called Bennington, Vermont. It is right on the south western edge of the state and was the site an important battle of the Revolutionary War was fought. The battle of Bennington.
In the area was also a famous church called old First Church. Robert Frost was buried there, as well as many Revoltuuonary War soldiers who fought on the British and American side. There was also a man buried there who was executed because he was a loyalist. I was very impressed to be in such a historical and beautiful place!
